You should see our house. We have stuff pulled out of closets, kids rooms are getting cleaned out, there are boxes of stuff to donate and take to my parent’s for storage, and downstairs, two couches, two tables, and a desk piled with stuff for eBay. What is going on? We are planning our departure from the home we built and have lived in for the last 7 years.
Why? We feel we need to do something different, something maybe a little crazy. So, we are going to put everyone into our camper, a Jayco 32BHDS, and do some traveling. How much? I don’t know yet. We have to see how and where the road takes us. We are planning an all summer trip next summer to hits points out west. Then, we are planning to stay out while I work as a traveling physical therapist and my wife develops her business as an online assistant.
As we go, I will talk (probably a lot) about our plans as they develop and what we have had to do to get ready for this adventure. To start, we have greatly reduced our debt. We feel that that is the single most important thing to do, so that we don’t have an anchor. The goal is to be debt free when we leave.
What else? We are selling anything not bolted down that has any value. We will then sell the house because we simply don’t want the maintenance or to be long distance landlords. This will also develop as we go.
We are in the planning stages and the ripping it all apart so we can put it back together in a different form stage. It looks to be a crazy and hectic winter. Should be fun!
