For several reasons, we found ourselves wanting to move from where we were to somewhere else. We found a spot in Pine Grove, CA, but it would not be ready for two weeks. What to do in the meantime?
Fortunately, just outside of Jackson CA is a very nice RV park at the Jackson Rancheria Casino. It is flat and has quite a bit of room in the sites, with everything either concrete or blacktop. The rates are reasonable, since they want you to stay and partake at the casino. To that end, there is a shuttle bus that will take you to the casino, and it runs 24 hours per day. We went to the casino to eat, and found that they have good food there, and it is reasonably priced. I cannot speak to the gambling part, because we did not participate in that.
Because they use their own sewage treatment facility, they dump your rig when you arrive and provide you with the appropriate chemical that is compatible with their system.
Locals have told me that it becomes very hot in the summer here, but for January it felt very nice for us and we enjoyed it. Everyone from the counter people to the security personnel were very friendly, and more importantly to us, kid friendly. They welcomed our children and did not mind them being there. For anyone driving through gold country in California, I would recommend a stay here.
