First, Happy New Year!! It is at this time of year that we all look at what last year was and what this year could be. Oh, the possibilities. Will you stay at the same old campgrounds? Will you go to the same destinations? Or, will you try somewhere new, a new destination or campground? What type of experience are you after? We like to break free of the full (or any) hookup areas, which opens up where we may go immensely. Is there a new camper at hand, or will some basic maintenance or repairs get you through?
As we look at the new year, our family thinks it is time to expand at least a little bit, maybe try a new place, and definately a new campground, or no campground. Maybe we will boondock in a national forest.
Whatever you (and we) decide to do, at least resolve to get out there, to not let the camper sit unused. There are many areas within 4 hours or so of most people, and for some, a long weekend can get you to these areas. Do some research, see where there is to go, and just go. Get the kids out of the house and spend some family time away from gadgets and gizmos. Do some hiking, reconnect. Laugh with each other and enjoy their company.
